Robert Aderholt

Robert Brown Aderholt is a Republican politician and attorney serving as the U.S. Representative for Alabama's 4th congressional district. Born on July 22, 1965, in Haleyville, Alabama, he earned his B.A. from Birmingham-Southern College and his J.D. from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law. Before his career in Congress, Aderholt practiced law, served as a municipal judge in Haleyville from 1992 to 1995, and worked as an assistant legal advisor to Governor Fob James. Aderholt was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1996 and took office in January 1997. As a senior member of the Alabama delegation, he serves on the House Committee on Appropriations. He has chaired several subcommittees, including Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies, as well as the Agriculture Subcommittee. His legislative work often focuses on rural development, support for Alabama's defense and aerospace sectors—specifically the Marshall Space Flight Center—and fiscal responsibility.

Robert Aderholt is a socially and fiscally conservative legislator. He is a staunch advocate for pro-life policies and has consistently voted to restrict abortion access.
