Jim Jordan

Jim Jordan is a Republican U.S. Representative for Ohio's 4th congressional district, a position he has held since first being elected in 2006. Born in Troy, Ohio, Jordan was a standout athlete, becoming a four-time state wrestling champion in high school and a two-time NCAA Division I national champion at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he earned a bachelor's degree in economics. He later obtained a master's degree in education from the Ohio State University and a Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School. Before entering federal politics, Jordan served as an assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State University from 1987 to 1995. His legislative career began in the Ohio General Assembly, where he served in the House of Representatives from 1995 to 2000 and the Ohio Senate from 2001 to 2006. Throughout his tenure in the U.S. House, Jordan has established himself as a prominent conservative leader, co-founding the House Freedom Caucus in 2015 and serving as its first chairman. He has also chaired the Republican Study Committee and currently serves as the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. Jordan is widely recognized for his role in congressional oversight and his close alliance with former President Donald Trump. He has been a central figure in numerous high-profile investigations and was a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2021. Throughout his career, he has maintained a focus on fiscal conservatism, constitutional integrity, and reduced government spending, frequently challenging leadership within his own party on these issues.
