Mike Kelly

Mike Kelly is a Republican U.S. Representative serving Pennsylvania's 16th Congressional District. Born George Joseph Kelly Jr. in Pittsburgh and raised in Butler, Pennsylvania, he attended the University of Notre Dame on both academic and football scholarships. Following his graduation, he returned to Butler to work at his family's automotive dealership, Kelly Chevrolet-Cadillac, eventually taking ownership of the business in the mid-1990s and expanding it to include multiple franchises. Before his tenure in federal office, Kelly's public service career included roles on the Butler City Council and the Butler Area School Board. Kelly was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2010 and took office in January 2011, initially representing the 3rd District before redistricting placed him in the 16th District. Throughout his time in Congress, he has been a prominent member of the House Ways and Means Committee, where he has focused on tax policy and economic growth. He also holds leadership positions in several caucuses, including the House Automotive Caucus and the Congressional Korea Caucus, and has been involved in legislative efforts related to childhood cancer and retirement security.

Mike Kelly advocates for a platform centered on fiscal conservatism, limited government, and pro-growth economic policies. As a senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee, he strongly supports tax reform aimed at simplifying the tax code and lowering rates for individuals and businesses. On energy policy, Kelly promotes an "all-of-the-above" strategy that includes the continued development of traditional resources like coal and natural gas alongside nuclear and renewable energy sources. He is a staunch supporter of Second Amendment rights and maintains a pro-life stance on social issues.
