Frank Pallone

Frank Pallone Jr. is a Democratic politician serving as the U.S. Representative for New Jersey's 6th congressional district, a seat he has held since 1988. Born and raised in Long Branch, New Jersey, Pallone earned a Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College, a Master’s degree in international relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, and a Juris Doctor from Rutgers University Law School. Prior to his election to Congress, he served on the Long Branch City Council from 1982 to 1988 and represented the 11th district in the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. In the House of Representatives, Pallone has emerged as a key figure in health and environmental policy, most notably serving as the Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee from 2019 to 2023. He played a central role in authoring and passing the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and has been a lead advocate for the cleanup of Superfund toxic waste sites. His legislative record also includes significant contributions to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Inflation Reduction Act, and the CHIPS and Science Act, with a career-long focus on protecting coastal resources and strengthening public health infrastructure.
