Mike Rogers

Michael Dennis Rogers is the U.S. Representative for Alabama's 3rd congressional district, a position he has held since 2003. A member of the Republican Party, Rogers was born in Hammond, Indiana, and raised in Calhoun County, Alabama. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and his Master of Public Administration from Jacksonville State University before obtaining a Juris Doctor from the Birmingham School of Law. Prior to his career in federal politics, Rogers practiced law in Anniston and served on the Calhoun County Commission and in the Alabama House of Representatives, where he rose to the position of House Minority Leader. In Congress, Rogers has become a prominent leader on issues of national security and defense. He currently serves as the Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, where he advocates for military modernization and robust defense spending. Rogers is notably recognized as one of the primary legislative architects behind the creation of the United States Space Force. Additionally, his work often centers on supporting military installations within his district, such as the Anniston Army Depot, and addressing the needs of East Alabama's agricultural and rural communities.
