Glenn Thompson

Glenn "GT" Thompson is a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives, serving Pennsylvania's 15th congressional district since 2019 and previously the 5th district from 2009 to 2019. Born on July 27, 1959, in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, he holds a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University and an M.Ed. from Temple University. Before entering Congress, Thompson spent 28 years in the healthcare field as a rehabilitation therapist, services manager, and licensed nursing home administrator. He also served as a member of the Bald Eagle Area School Board and was the chair of the Centre County Republican Party. Currently, Thompson serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture for the 118th Congress. Throughout his tenure, he has been a major proponent of vocational education, co-authoring the Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, which was enacted into law in 2018. His legislative work often highlights rural development, emergency services—reflecting his 30-year history as a volunteer firefighter—and the strengthening of domestic agricultural supply chains.
