Barry Loudermilk

Barry Loudermilk is a Republican politician representing Georgia's 11th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Born in Riverdale, Georgia, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1984 to 1992 as a communications operations specialist, participating in operations such as Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Following his military service, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education and Information Systems Technology from Wayland Baptist University in 1992 and became a small business owner, founding an information technology services company and co-owning a flight training school. Loudermilk began his political career as the chairman of the Bartow County Republican Party from 2001 to 2004. He subsequently served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 2005 to 2010 and the Georgia State Senate from 2011 to 2013. He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2014 and assumed office on January 3, 2015. Throughout his tenure in Congress, he has been a member of the Committee on Financial Services and the Committee on House Administration, often identifying as a constitutional conservative. In his congressional career, Loudermilk has held leadership roles including Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Monetary Policy. He has received various recognitions for his service, such as the American Conservative Union's Defender of Liberty Award. In early 2026, he announced that he would not seek re-election to the House for the 2026 term.
