Seth Moulton

Seth Moulton is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Massachusetts's 6th congressional district. He was first elected in 2014, defeating a long-term incumbent in the primary, and assumed office in January 2015. Born in Salem, Massachusetts, Moulton graduated from Harvard University with a degree in physics in 2001. Shortly after graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served four tours of duty in Iraq as an infantry officer and later as a special assistant to General David Petraeus. He earned the Bronze Star Medal for valor during his service and reached the rank of Captain before leaving the military in 2008. After his military service, Moulton returned to Harvard to earn dual master's degrees in business and public administration. Before entering politics, he worked in the private sector as the managing director of a high-speed rail project in Texas. In Congress, he has been recognized for his focus on mental health, veterans' affairs, and infrastructure modernization. Key accomplishments include authoring the legislation that created the 988 National Suicide Lifeline and receiving multiple Democracy Awards for transparency and constituent services. He also founded the Serve America PAC to support other Democratic veterans running for public office.
