Brendan Boyle

Brendan Francis Boyle is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Pennsylvania's 2nd congressional district since 2019. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was the first in his family to attend college, earning a Bachelor of Arts in government from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Public Policy from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. Before entering politics, he worked as a consultant for the U.S. Department of Defense and served as an adjunct professor at Drexel University. Boyle's political career began in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, where he served from 2009 to 2015, representing the 170th district. He was first elected to the U.S. Congress in 2014 to represent the 13th district, succeeding Allyson Schwartz. Following redistricting in 2018, he was elected to represent the 2nd district, which encompasses parts of Northeast and North Philadelphia. In the House, he has risen to become the Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee and serves on the influential Ways and Means Committee. Throughout his tenure, Boyle has been recognized for his focus on labor and middle-class issues, founding the "Blue Collar Caucus" to address wage stagnation and job insecurity. He also serves as the Lead Democrat for the U.S. Congressional Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
