Andy Biggs

Andy Biggs is an American politician and retired attorney representing Arizona's 5th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. A member of the Republican Party, he was first elected to Congress in 2016 and assumed office in January 2017. Before his tenure in federal office, Biggs served for 14 years in the Arizona Legislature, including terms in both the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2011 and the State Senate from 2011 to 2017, where he served as Senate President for four years. He holds a bachelor's degree in Asian Studies from Brigham Young University, a Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona, and a master's degree in Political Science from Arizona State University. In Congress, Biggs has established himself as a prominent conservative leader, serving as the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus from 2019 to 2022. He is a member of the House Judiciary and Oversight and Accountability committees, where he has focused on issues such as judicial oversight, immigration, and government accountability. His legislative career has been marked by a consistent focus on constitutional principles, regulatory reform, and fiscal conservatism, earning high ratings from various conservative advocacy groups such as the Club for Growth and Heritage Action.
