Jason Crow

Jason Crow is a Democratic U.S. Representative for Colorado's 6th congressional district, first elected in 2018. Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Crow attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison before serving as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division and a captain in the 75th Ranger Regiment. He completed three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and was awarded a Bronze Star for his leadership during the Battle of Samawah. Following his military service, he earned a law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2009 and worked as a partner at the law firm Holland & Hart. In Congress, Crow serves on the House Armed Services and House Intelligence Committees, where he focuses on national security, veterans' rights, and government accountability. He gained significant national prominence in 2020 as one of the seven House impeachment managers during the first trial of President Donald Trump. Crow has also been a vocal advocate for his district's aerospace economy and the Buckley Space Force Base, consistently working to improve the transition of service members from military to civilian life.

Crow's policy platform emphasizes gun violence prevention, including support for universal background checks and a federal ban on assault weapons. On healthcare, he supports the Affordable Care Act and advocates for a public option and lower prescription drug costs. His environmental policy views climate change as a national security threat and supports transitioning to clean energy. In foreign policy, he seeks to reclaim congressional war powers and reform the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF). Additionally, he supports campaign finance reform, including overturning Citizens United, and legal protections for DACA recipients.
