Daniel Meuser

Daniel Philip Meuser is a Republican politician and businessman serving as the U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania’s 9th Congressional District. Born in Flushing, Queens, New York, he grew up in Babylon and attended the State University of New York Maritime College before earning a bachelor's degree from Cornell University, where he participated in the Navy ROTC program. Before entering public office, Meuser spent over two decades at Pride Mobility Products, a family-founded manufacturer of motorized wheelchairs and mobility equipment, where he served as President of Pride USA. Meuser's transition into public service began in 2011 when he was appointed Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Revenue by Governor Tom Corbett, a position he held until 2015. He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018 and assumed office on January 3, 2019. During his tenure in Congress, he has served on the House Financial Services Committee and the House Small Business Committee, notably holding the position of Chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. His legislative focus has often centered on small business advocacy, regulatory reform, and economic growth in rural and underserved communities.

Meuser's policy platform is centered on the 'America First' agenda, emphasizing economic growth, fiscal responsibility, and national security. He is a strong proponent of deregulation and pro-growth tax policies, including the extension of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act to support small businesses and job creators. On energy, he advocates for American energy dominance, specifically supporting the expansion of Pennsylvania’s natural gas and coal production to lower energy costs and reduce foreign reliance. His stance on immigration focuses on border security, where he supports ending catch-and-release policies, reinstating the 'Remain in Mexico' program, and completing the border wall. In healthcare, Meuser has introduced legislation aimed at lowering prescription drug costs for patients while opposing federal efforts to expand abortion access. Additionally, he consistently supports increased military funding and a foreign policy focused on 'peace through strength.'
