William Timmons

William Richard Timmons IV is a Republican politician, attorney, and small business owner representing South Carolina's 4th congressional district. A native of Greenville, South Carolina, he earned his undergraduate degree from George Washington University before obtaining a Juris Doctor and a Master of International Business from the University of South Carolina. He later earned a Master of Science in Cybersecurity Risk and Strategy from New York University. Before entering public office, Timmons served as a prosecutor in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Solicitor's Office, where he focused on domestic violence cases, and operated several small businesses, including fitness studios and a law firm. He is also a Captain and JAG officer in the South Carolina Air National Guard. Timmons began his legislative career in the South Carolina Senate, representing the 6th district from 2016 until 2018. He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018 and assumed office on January 3, 2019. In Congress, he has served on the House Financial Services Committee and the House Oversight and Accountability Committee. He also held a leadership role as the Vice Chair of the Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress, working on bipartisan recommendations to increase government transparency and efficiency.

Timmons maintains a consistently conservative platform centered on fiscal responsibility and regulatory reform. He advocates for lower taxes, reduced federal spending to address the national debt, and deregulation to stimulate economic growth. On immigration, he supports strict border security measures, the completion of a southern border wall, and increased enforcement to end 'catch-and-release' policies. His healthcare position involves repealing the Affordable Care Act and replacing it with market-based alternatives intended to lower costs through competition. Additionally, Timmons is a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment, holds a pro-life stance on abortion, and emphasizes national security through increased military readiness and energy independence.
