Lauren Boebert

Lauren Boebert is a U.S. Representative from Colorado, currently representing the 4th Congressional District. Born in Altamonte Springs, Florida, in 1986, she moved to Colorado as a child and eventually settled in Rifle. Before entering public office, Boebert worked in the natural gas industry as a technician and pipeline coordinator. She also owned and operated Shooters Grill in Rifle from 2013 to 2022, a restaurant that gained national prominence for its policy of encouraging staff to carry firearms openly. Boebert earned her General Educational Development (GED) certificate in 2020, shortly before her first primary election. A member of the Republican Party, Boebert was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020 for Colorado's 3rd District, where she achieved an upset victory over a five-term incumbent in the primary. She served two terms in the 3rd District before running for and winning the seat for the 4th District in 2024. In Congress, she has become a leading figure in the House Freedom Caucus and serves as the co-chair of the Second Amendment Caucus. Her legislative accomplishments include the passage of the Pueblo Jobs Act and various initiatives focused on water and infrastructure projects in rural Colorado.

Lauren Boebert’s policy positions are rooted in a conservative 'America First' platform. She is a staunch defender of the Second Amendment, opposing red flag laws, background check expansions, and other firearm restrictions. Economically, she advocates for fiscal conservatism, supporting significant cuts to federal spending, deregulation, and tax reductions. Her energy policy prioritizes domestic production and energy independence, frequently advocating for the expansion of the oil and gas industry and the completion of the Keystone XL pipeline. On immigration, Boebert supports strict border security, the construction of a border wall, and increased deportations. In the realm of foreign policy, she emphasizes NATO accountability and is often critical of large foreign aid packages, though she maintains strong support for Israel. Regarding healthcare, she favors the repeal of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in favor of market-based solutions.
