Victoria Spartz

Victoria Spartz is a Republican politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Indiana's 5th congressional district. Born in Nosivka, Ukraine, she immigrated to the United States in 2000 and became a naturalized citizen in 2006. Spartz holds a Bachelor of International Economics and an MBA from Kyiv National Economic University, as well as a Master of Professional Accountancy from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. Her professional background includes working as a CPA for Big Four accounting firms, serving as an adjunct professor at Indiana University, and holding the position of Chief Financial Officer for the Indiana Attorney General’s Office. She also owns several businesses involved in financial consulting, real estate, and farming. Spartz entered public office in 2017 when she was selected by a Republican caucus to fill a vacancy in the Indiana Senate, where she served until 2020. She was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020, making history as the first Ukrainian-born immigrant to serve in Congress. Throughout her tenure, she has focused on issues such as fiscal responsibility, healthcare reform, and national security. She has been a vocal member of committees including Judiciary and Education and the Workforce, often drawing on her personal history in a post-Soviet state to advocate for limited government and free-market principles.
