Tracey Mann

Tracey Robert Mann, a Republican, is the U.S. Representative for Kansas's 1st congressional district, a position he has held since January 2021. Born and raised on a fifth-generation family farm south of Quinter, Kansas, Mann developed a strong background in production agriculture. He attended Kansas State University, where he served as student body president and earned a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics in 2000. Before his election to Congress, he spent nearly two decades working in commercial real estate as a broker and developer. Mann's political career includes serving as the 50th Lieutenant Governor of Kansas from 2018 to 2019, having been appointed by Governor Jeff Colyer. He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020, winning the seat previously held by Roger Marshall. In Congress, he is an active member of the House Committee on Agriculture and the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. He also remains involved in his family's farming operation and resides in Salina with his wife and four children.

Representative Mann is a staunch advocate for agricultural interests, prioritizing the preservation of crop insurance and the expansion of international trade for livestock and crops. On social issues, he is firmly pro-life, maintaining that life begins at conception and opposing the use of taxpayer funds for abortion services. He is a strong supporter of Second Amendment rights, frequently voting against gun control measures and advocating for the protection of firearm ownership for law-abiding citizens. Regarding immigration, Mann supports strict border security measures, including the construction of a southern border wall and the mandatory detention of undocumented immigrants who commit crimes. His economic platform focuses on supporting small businesses and fiscal conservatism, though he has also expressed support for strengthening Medicaid to protect benefits for vulnerable populations. In foreign policy, he has supported military aid to Israel while voting against additional funding for Ukraine in 2024. Additionally, he has sought to reduce federal environmental regulations that impact Kansas farmers, such as the delisting of the lesser prairie chicken from the Endangered Species Act.
