Lisa McClain

Lisa McClain is a Republican U.S. Representative who has served Michigan in Congress since January 3, 2021. Born and raised in Stockbridge, Michigan, she attended Lansing Community College before earning her Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University in 1997. Before entering public office, McClain had a substantial career in the private financial sector, including over a decade as an executive at American Express and as a co-founder and Senior Vice President of the Hantz Group from 1998 to 2019. Beyond her professional career, she founded the North End Support Team, a non-profit dedicated to assisting individuals struggling with drug abuse and addiction. McClain was first elected to represent Michigan's 10th congressional district in 2020 and transitioned to the 9th district in 2023 following redistricting. During her tenure, she has risen to a significant leadership role, being elected as the Chair of the House Republican Conference for the 119th Congress. She serves on several key committees, including the House Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on the Budget, and the Committee on Oversight and Accountability, where she chairs the Subcommittee on Health Care and Financial Services. Her legislative work frequently emphasizes support for military families and veterans' mental health services.
