Nicole Malliotakis

Nicole Malliotakis is a Republican politician who has served as the U.S. Representative for New York's 11th Congressional District since 2021. Her district encompasses all of Staten Island and parts of southern Brooklyn. Born in Manhattan to a Greek father and a Cuban mother who fled the Castro regime, she was first elected to the New York State Assembly in 2010, where she served for ten years. During her time in the Assembly, she was the Republican nominee for Mayor of New York City in 2017. Malliotakis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Seton Hall University and a Master of Business Administration from Wagner College. Since entering Congress, Malliotakis has focused on legislative priorities such as public safety, infrastructure investment, and constituent services. She is currently a member of the House Committee on Ways and Means, making her the first Republican from New York City to serve on this committee in three decades. Her career also includes experience in the private sector as a public affairs manager for Consolidated Edison and as a staffer for both the New York State Governor’s office and the State Senate. She is frequently recognized as the only Republican representing a portion of New York City in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Malliotakis maintains a platform centered on fiscal conservatism, strong border security, and support for law enforcement. On immigration, she advocates for increased funding for border security, opposes sanctuary city policies, and supports the 'Remain in Mexico' program. Her economic priorities include tax reform aimed at reducing the burden on small businesses and opposing congestion pricing in New York City. She has consistently supported funding for local infrastructure projects, such as the Staten Island East Shore Sea Wall, and was one of the few House Republicans to vote for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act in 2021. Regarding foreign policy, she is a vocal critic of the Cuban government and a supporter of strengthening diplomatic ties with Taiwan. Additionally, she emphasizes public safety, frequently speaking out against bail reform measures and in favor of increased resources for police departments.
