Dale Strong

Dale Whitney Strong is a Republican politician who has represented Alabama's 5th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives since January 2023. Born on May 8, 1970, in Huntsville, Alabama, he grew up in the Monrovia community and graduated from Sparkman High School. Strong earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Athens State University and obtained an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Before his congressional career, he worked in the private sector as a pharmaceutical sales representative and spent over three decades as a first responder, serving as a volunteer firefighter, EMT, and 911 dispatcher. Strong's political career began in 1996 when he was elected to the Madison County Commission, becoming the youngest Republican elected official in Alabama at the time. He served as a district commissioner until 2012, when he was elected as the first Republican Chairman of the Madison County Commission, a position he held until his transition to Congress. In 2022, he won the election to succeed retiring Representative Mo Brooks and was subsequently re-elected to a second term in 2024. In the House, he serves on the Committee on Appropriations and the Committee on Homeland Security, where he chairs the Subcommittee on Emergency Management and Technology.

Representative Strong maintains a conservative policy platform focused on fiscal restraint, border security, and national defense. On economic issues, he advocates for lowering taxes and reducing federal spending, often citing his 'do more with less' approach from his time in county government. He supported the 'Working Families Tax Cut Act' and opposes increases to the national debt. On immigration, Strong is a proponent of finishing the U.S.-Mexico border wall and has introduced legislation like the 'Deport Illegal Voters Act' to expedite the removal of non-citizens convicted of illegal voting.
