Brittany Pettersen

Representative Brittany Pettersen is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Colorado's 7th Congressional District. Born and raised in Jefferson County, Colorado, she was the first in her family to graduate from high school and college, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Her path to public service was influenced by her personal background and her work with political advocacy groups before entering the Colorado General Assembly. Pettersen served for a decade in the Colorado State Legislature, holding office in the House of Representatives from 2013 to 2019 and the State Senate from 2019 to 2023. In 2022, she was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, becoming the first woman to represent Colorado's 7th District.
