Aaron Bean

Aaron Bean is a Republican politician representing Florida's 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, a seat he was first elected to in 2022. Born and raised in Fernandina Beach, Florida, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Jacksonville University in 1989, where he served as student body president. Before his tenure in Congress, Bean built a career as a small business owner, notably founding the High Energy Auction Company, and served as a community bank president and a development officer for UF Health Jacksonville. Bean's extensive legislative experience began in 1996 when he was elected as a City Commissioner and later Mayor of Fernandina Beach. He served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2008 and the Florida Senate from 2012 to 2022. In the state Senate, he held the leadership role of President Pro Tempore and chaired the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services, where he managed a significant portion of the state's budget. He is currently a member of the House Committee on Ways and Means and a co-founder of the Delivering Outstanding Government Efficiency (DOGE) Caucus.

Bean identifies as a fiscal conservative, focusing on reducing government waste, fraud, and abuse through the DOGE Caucus. He supports market-driven healthcare reforms, frequently criticizing the Affordable Care Act as unsustainable while advocating for the expansion of Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and medical residency slots. On immigration, he is a vocal supporter of enhanced border security, favoring the construction of a border wall, ending 'catch and release' policies, and increasing Border Patrol resources. In the realm of energy, Bean promotes 'American energy dominance,' supporting increased domestic oil and natural gas production to lower costs. His foreign policy includes steadfast support for Israel, though he has expressed opposition to multi-billion dollar aid packages for Ukraine, arguing that U.S. border security must be prioritized before funding foreign border protection.
