Maxwell Frost

Maxwell Alejandro Frost is a Democratic politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Florida's 10th congressional district, representing the Orlando area. First elected in 2022 and taking office in January 2023, Frost is recognized as the first member of Generation Z to serve in the United States Congress. An Afro-Cuban organizer and activist, he was adopted at birth by a special education teacher and a musician. His early career was shaped by his work in grassroots organizing, notably as the national organizing director for March for Our Lives, a youth-led movement for gun violence prevention. He also served as a field manager for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Florida, where he worked on the successful Amendment 4 campaign to restore voting rights to former felons. Frost's educational background includes attending Valencia College in Orlando. Before his election to Congress, he held various roles in political campaigns, including working as a national advance manager for Bernie Sanders' 2020 presidential bid and as a field organizer for Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign. In the House of Representatives, Frost serves on the Committee on Oversight and Accountability and the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. His legislative focus often centers on issues affecting young people and marginalized communities, drawing from his decade of experience as an activist and his own status as a survivor of gun violence.
