Anna Luna

Anna Paulina Luna is an American politician and United States Air Force veteran representing Florida's 13th Congressional District since 2023. Born in Santa Ana, California, in 1989, she was raised by a single mother in Southern California. Luna served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force from 2009 to 2014 and subsequently served in the Air National Guard. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of West Florida in 2017. Before entering politics, Luna worked as the Director of Hispanic Engagement for Turning Point USA and as the Chair of the Hispanic Initiative for PragerU. She first ran for Congress in 2020, losing to incumbent Charlie Crist, but was successfully elected in 2022 after the district was redrawn. She is the first Mexican-American woman to represent Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives. In Congress, she is a member of the House Freedom Caucus and serves on the Oversight and Accountability and Foreign Affairs committees.

Luna maintains a conservative policy platform focused on 'America First' principles. On immigration, she advocates for finishing the border wall, restoring the 'Remain in Mexico' policy, ending 'catch-and-release,' and implementing mandatory DNA testing at the border to combat trafficking; she strongly opposes amnesty for undocumented immigrants. Regarding the economy, she is a fiscal conservative who has voted against debt limit increases and 'bloated' spending bills, though she notably co-sponsored legislation with Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to cap credit card interest rates at 10%. In foreign policy, Luna is a vocal critic of continued military aid to Ukraine, calling for an immediate peace agreement and arguing that U.S. taxpayers should not 'bankroll' the conflict indefinitely. She is a self-described 'pro-life extremist' who supports significant restrictions on abortion, often stating she opposes exceptions for rape or incest. On energy, she supports expanded domestic production including fracking and has proposed banning U.S. oil exports to prioritize domestic supply and lower gas prices. She also advocates for school choice and opposes the inclusion of 'radical gender theory' in public education curricula.
