Mike Collins

Mike Collins is the U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 10th congressional district, representing the Republican Party. He was first elected to the House in 2022 and took office on January 3, 2023. A native of Jackson, Georgia, Collins is the son of the late Mac Collins, who represented Georgia's 8th district in Congress for over a decade. He attended Piedmont Academy before earning a Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia State University in 1990. Before his political career, Collins established himself as a businessman in the logistics industry. In the early 1990s, he and his wife founded a trucking company that expanded from a single semi-truck into a major fleet operations business employing over 100 people. His professional history also includes serving as the chairman of one of Georgia's largest credit unions and as the president of his local chamber of commerce, roles that informed his legislative focus on small business interests. In Congress, Representative Collins serves on the Committees on Transportation and Infrastructure, Natural Resources, and Science, Space, and Technology. He has gained recognition for sponsoring the TRANQ Research Act, which addresses the spread of psychoactive substances, and the Laken Riley Act, which focuses on immigration enforcement. His legislative activity reflects a focus on border security, federal agency accountability, and constituent services.
