Zachary (Zach) Nunn

Zachary (Zach) Nunn is a Republican politician and United States Air Force Reserve officer serving as the U.S. Representative for Iowa's 3rd congressional district. A sixth-generation Iowan, Nunn was raised in Altoona and graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 1998. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and international relations from Drake University in 2002, followed by a Master of Studies from the University of Cambridge and a Master's degree from the Air Command and Staff College. His military career spans nearly two decades, during which he served as an airborne intelligence officer in the U.S. Air Force, completing three deployments to the Middle East with over 700 combat hours. He also served as the Director of Cybersecurity for the White House National Security Council. Nunn began his legislative career in the Iowa House of Representatives, where he served from 2015 to 2019, followed by a term in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2023. During his time in the state legislature, he focused on fiscal policy and economic growth, contributing to significant state tax reductions. He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2022, narrowly defeating incumbent Cindy Axne, and assumed office on January 3, 2023. In Congress, he serves on the House Financial Services Committee, the House Agriculture Committee, and the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party.

Zach Nunn's policy positions reflect a conservative platform focused on fiscal responsibility, national security, and traditional values. On the economy, he advocates for reining in government spending to combat inflation and has introduced legislation to reduce bureaucratic red tape for small businesses and extend rural economic development loans.
