John James

John James is a Republican politician and businessman currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Michigan's 10th congressional district. First elected to Congress in 2022 and assuming office in January 2023, he was later re-elected in 2024. James has a significant military background, having graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2004. He served eight years in the U.S. Army as an AH-64 Apache pilot, completing multiple tours of duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom and reaching the rank of captain. Following his military service, James pursued higher education, earning a master's degree in supply chain management from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. He transitioned into the private sector as the president of James Group International and CEO of Renaissance Global Logistics, a family-owned supply chain and logistics firm based in Detroit. Before his election to the House, James gained national prominence through two competitive but unsuccessful campaigns for the U.S. Senate in 2018 and 2020.

Representative James maintains a conservative platform focused on economic growth, national security, and domestic manufacturing. He has been a vocal critic of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), advocating for its repeal and replacement with market-based solutions while emphasizing the need for affordable healthcare. In economic policy, he prioritizes the revitalization of Michigan's auto industry and has proposed the 'Repatriation Act' to bring manufacturing jobs back from China. He is also a proponent of deregulation and supports traditional energy production, including hydraulic fracking. On environmental issues, James has used the Congressional Review Act to challenge EPA emission standards that he characterizes as an electric vehicle mandate. His foreign policy stance is marked by a focus on national security and a firm approach toward the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), frequently advocating for the protection of U.S. intellectual property. Socially, he identifies as pro-life and a supporter of Second Amendment rights. Additionally, he has expressed opposition to the legalization of recreational marijuana and has advocated for stricter citizenship requirements for voter registration.
