Charles (Chuck) Edwards

Charles (Chuck) Edwards is the U.S. Representative for North Carolina's 11th District, first elected in 2022. Born in Waynesville, North Carolina, Edwards attended Blue Ridge Community College where he studied business and marketing. His professional career began in the food service industry, where he started as a teenager at a McDonald's restaurant and eventually rose through the ranks of corporate management. He later became a successful franchise owner, operating several locations across Western North Carolina, and was involved in real estate and financial sector leadership as a director for Entegra Financial Corporation. Edwards transitioned to public service in 2016 when he was appointed to the North Carolina Senate, where he served three terms representing the 48th district. In the state legislature, he focused on economic issues and chaired committees including the Senate Commerce and Insurance Committee. After winning a competitive primary and the general election in 2022, he entered the 118th Congress. He serves on the House Appropriations and Budget Committees, with a legislative focus on economic development, fiscal oversight, and responding to regional challenges such as disaster recovery following Hurricane Helene.

Edwards aligns with Republican platforms, emphasizing fiscal conservatism and limited government. He supports permanent tax cuts for individuals and small businesses, advocating for the repeal of regulations he views as burdensome to economic growth. On immigration, he prioritizes border security, including the construction of a physical wall and increased staffing for border enforcement agencies. He has also supported legislation to require proof of citizenship for voter registration. Regarding foreign policy, Edwards has voted in favor of security assistance for Ukraine and supports maintaining a strong national defense.
