Nicholas Langworthy

Nicholas Langworthy is a Republican politician who has represented New York's 23rd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2023. Born in Jamestown, New York, and raised in South Dayton, he graduated from Pine Valley Central School in 1999 before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Niagara University in 2003. During his time at Niagara, he established a campus chapter of the College Republicans and served as the chair of the New York College Republicans. His early career included working as a congressional staffer for U.S. Representatives Thomas M. Reynolds and Christopher J. Lee, and later serving as a member of Donald Trump’s presidential transition team in 2016. Prior to his election to Congress, Langworthy held significant leadership roles within the Republican Party. In 2010, he became the youngest individual ever elected to chair the Erie County Republican Party, a position he held until 2019. He was subsequently elected as the chairman of the New York Republican State Committee in 2019, where he focused on candidate recruitment and party revitalization until his move to federal office. Professionally, he also served as the president of Liberty Opinion Research, a political consulting and polling firm. In the House, Langworthy serves on the Committees on Rules, Oversight and Accountability, and Agriculture. His legislative work often highlights the needs of New York's Southern Tier and Western regions, focusing on rural development and government transparency. He currently chairs the Aviation Safety Caucus and is a member of the Northern Border Security and Rural Health Caucuses. Langworthy was first elected to Congress in 2022 following a primary victory and a subsequent win in the general election.
