Andrew Ogles

William Andrew Ogles IV is a Republican politician and businessman serving as the U.S. Representative for Tennessee's 5th congressional district. A native of Middle Tennessee with deep family roots in the state, Ogles attended several institutions before earning a Bachelor of Science in liberal studies from Middle Tennessee State University in 2007. Prior to entering public office, he worked in the music industry and was an entrepreneur in the restaurant and real estate sectors. He also served as the Chief Operating Officer for Abolition International, an anti-human trafficking organization. Ogles' political career includes serving as the state director for Americans for Prosperity from 2013 to 2018 and as the Executive Director of the Laffer Center for Supply-Side Economics. He was elected Mayor of Maury County, Tennessee, in 2018, where he served until 2022. He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2022 and assumed office on January 3, 2023. During his tenure in Congress, he has been a member of the House Committee on Financial Services and the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability. Throughout his career, Ogles has focused on fiscal policy and limited government. He has been recognized for his advocacy for supply-side economics and efforts to restructure Tennessee's tax code. In Congress, he is known as a member of the Freedom Caucus and has been active in legislative efforts related to border security and federal spending reductions.
