Nathaniel Moran

Nathaniel Moran is a Republican politician and attorney serving as the U.S. Representative for Texas's 1st congressional district. Born in Arizona and raised in Whitehouse, Texas, Moran graduated from Whitehouse High School in 1993. He attended the United States Military Academy at West Point for two years before transferring to Texas Tech University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Language and Area Studies, a Master of Business Administration, and a Juris Doctor. Prior to his congressional career, Moran practiced law with a focus on business and commercial litigation and served as a member of the Tyler City Council from 2005 to 2009.

Representative Moran describes himself as a Reagan Republican and aligns with conservative policy positions. He has supported legislation to increase border security and voted in favor of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which requires proof of citizenship for voter registration. In economic policy, he has introduced the 'No Tax on Overtime Act' and supported measures aimed at reducing federal spending and fossil energy development regulations. His foreign policy record includes support for the Ukraine Security Supplemental Appropriations Act while also opposing measures he views as undermining executive branch authority in international negotiations. Additionally, he has advocated for defunding Planned Parenthood and has opposed the creation of a government-issued Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).
