Celeste Maloy

Celeste Maloy is a Republican politician and attorney representing Utah's 2nd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. Born in Cedar City, Utah, and raised in Hiko, Nevada, she graduated from Southern Utah University with a degree in agriculture and later earned her Juris Doctor from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. Her early career included 11 years as a soil conservationist for the Natural Resources Conservation Service and serving as a deputy county attorney for Washington County, Utah, where she specialized in public land and water law. Maloy transitioned into federal policy as the Chief Legal Counsel for her predecessor, U.S. Representative Chris Stewart. Following Stewart's resignation, she won a special election in November 2023 to represent the 2nd district and was subsequently re-elected to a full term in 2024. In Congress, she serves on the House Committee on Appropriations and the House Committee on Natural Resources. She also holds the leadership position of Chair of the Congressional Western Caucus, focusing on policy issues relevant to the rural West.
