Tony Wied

Tony Wied is a Republican U.S. Representative representing Wisconsin's 8th Congressional District. He assumed office on November 12, 2024, after winning both a special election to fill the remaining term of former Representative Mike Gallagher and a general election for the full subsequent term. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, and raised in the Green Bay area, Wied graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1994 and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Norbert College in 1998, where he also played college football. Prior to entering politics, Wied was a long-time small business owner in Northeast Wisconsin. For over two decades, he owned and operated Dino Stop, a chain of gas stations and convenience stores, which he sold in 2022. He campaigned as a political outsider and received the endorsement of former President Donald Trump, emphasizing his private-sector experience and 'America First' perspective as primary qualifications for federal office.

Tony Wied's policy positions align with the 'America First' platform, focusing on economic fiscal restraint and border security. He advocates for curbing government spending to address the national debt and inflation, supporting the permanence of the 2017 tax cuts and a reduction in corporate tax rates.
