Jeff Crank

Jeff Crank is a Republican politician representing Colorado's 5th Congressional District, having been first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2024. A native of southern Colorado, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Colorado State University in 1990. His early career was defined by his work as a congressional staffer for Representative Joel Hefley from 1991 to 1998, where he served as Administrative Director and specialized in military and defense issues. During this tenure, he was a key contributor to the authoring of the Military Family Housing Privatization Act, which facilitated the improvement of housing for military families across dozens of installations. Following his time in Washington, D.C., Crank returned to Colorado and held leadership roles as the Vice President and later Senior Vice President of the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce. He also became a prominent figure in conservative advocacy, serving as the Colorado State Director and later the Chief Operating Officer for Americans for Prosperity. Beyond his political and advocacy work, Crank is a small business owner with a background in real estate investment and was a well-known media personality as the host of "The Jeff Crank Show" on KVOR-AM and the "American Potential" podcast. Throughout his career, Crank has been active in local governance and community organizations, including appointments to the Colorado Emergency Planning Commission and the El Paso County Citizens Corps Council. He previously ran for the same congressional seat in 2006 and 2008 before successfully winning the Republican primary and general election in 2024. He currently serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the Committee on Natural Resources.

Jeff Crank maintains a staunchly conservative policy platform centered on fiscal responsibility, border security, and military support. He advocates for significant reductions in federal spending and has called for the disbanding of several federal agencies, including the Department of Education, to address inflation and high interest rates. On immigration, Crank supports a complete shutdown of the U.S.-Mexico border, the implementation of large-scale deportation programs, and the passage of the SAVE Act to require proof of citizenship for voter registration. He is a strong proponent of the U.S. military, particularly advocating for the retention of the U.S. Space Force command in Colorado Springs and the protection of local installations like Fort Carson. Additionally, Crank holds pro-life views, opposing taxpayer-funded abortion, and supports constitutional amendments for congressional term limits and prohibiting member compensation during government shutdowns.
