Kelly Morrison

Kelly Morrison is an American physician and politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Minnesota's 3rd congressional district. A member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) party, she was first elected to Congress in November 2024 and assumed office on January 3, 2025, succeeding Representative Dean Phillips. Before her election to federal office, Morrison served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023 and the Minnesota Senate from 2023 until 2024. During her time in the Minnesota state legislature, she held leadership roles as an assistant majority leader and worked on bipartisan initiatives related to prescription drug price transparency and maternal health. Morrison is a practicing obstetrician-gynecologist with over 20 years of medical experience, a background that has significantly shaped her legislative focus on public health and clinical training. She was raised in Deephaven, Minnesota, and attended Yale University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in history, before receiving her medical degree from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. In the U.S. House of Representatives, Morrison serves on the Committee on Small Business and the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs.
