Pat Harrigan

Pat Harrigan is a Republican politician, combat veteran, and entrepreneur serving as the U.S. Representative for North Carolina's 10th congressional district. Born in 1987, he graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2009 with a degree in nuclear engineering. Following his education, he was commissioned as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army and subsequently qualified as a Green Beret in the Special Forces. Harrigan served two combat deployments in Afghanistan, earning two Bronze Star Medals for his leadership and service during Operation Enduring Freedom. After his military service, Harrigan transitioned to the private sector and co-founded several firearms manufacturing businesses in North Carolina, including ZRODelta and UnBrandedAR. He first entered the political arena in 2022 with an unsuccessful bid for North Carolina's 14th district before successfully running for the 10th district in 2024. He assumed office on January 3, 2025, succeeding longtime Representative Patrick McHenry. In Congress, he serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. Harrigan's career has been defined by his dual background in military operations and industrial manufacturing. During his first term, he has leveraged his technical expertise in nuclear engineering and his experience as a small business owner to influence policy regarding energy and domestic manufacturing. He currently resides in Hickory, North Carolina, with his wife and two daughters.

Harrigan’s policy platform is centered on national security, economic growth, and 'America First' principles. On immigration, he advocates for increased border security, the completion of the border wall, and stricter enforcement of immigration laws to combat the trafficking of fentanyl and human smuggling. Economically, he supports cutting federal spending, reducing regulatory burdens on small businesses, and incentivizing domestic manufacturing. His energy policy follows an 'all-of-the-above' approach, where he promotes the expansion of domestic oil and gas production while utilizing his engineering background to support nuclear energy and renewable sources. In foreign policy, he emphasizes a strong national defense and support for key allies like Taiwan, while remaining critical of international bodies that he believes do not serve U.S. strategic interests. Additionally, he has publicly criticized the Affordable Care Act and has supported socially conservative legislation, such as measures to prohibit biological males from participating in women's sports.
