Ryan Mackenzie

Ryan Mackenzie is a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District. He assumed office on January 3, 2025, after winning the 2024 general election. Mackenzie is a ninth-generation resident of the Lehigh Valley and graduated from Parkland High School in 2000. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and International Business from New York University in 2004 and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 2010. Before his election to Congress, Mackenzie served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2012 to 2024, representing the 134th and later the 187th districts. During his tenure in Harrisburg, he held several leadership roles, including Republican chair of the Labor & Industry Committee and co-chair of the International Relations Caucus. He and his mother, Milou Mackenzie, made history as the first mother and son to serve together in the Pennsylvania General Assembly. In the 119th Congress, Mackenzie was appointed to the Committee on Education and the Workforce, the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and the Committee on Homeland Security. Throughout his legislative career, he has focused on workforce development, fiscal policy, and government reform. He has also served on various state and regional boards, including the Pennsylvania Workforce Development Board and the Pennsylvania Economic Development Financing Authority.

Mackenzie’s policy platform emphasizes fiscal conservatism, border security, and support for working families. He advocates for reducing government spending to combat inflation and supports tax relief initiatives, such as expanding the Child Tax Credit and increasing the standard deduction. On immigration, he supports securing the border, completing the border wall, and ending federal grants for sanctuary cities. He also promotes the mandatory use of E-Verify to ensure manufacturing and other jobs are filled by legal residents. Regarding healthcare, Mackenzie has stated support for protecting Medicare and Social Security benefits from cuts, reducing prescription drug costs, and maintaining coverage for pre-existing conditions. He generally aligns with conservative positions on social issues, including support for the Second Amendment and pro-life views. Additionally, he promotes American energy independence by encouraging the development of domestic energy resources while opposing "cap-and-tax" environmental policies.
